QA tester at Acuitus
We are looking for talented testers to work on the complex and highly interactive Digital Tutor. Candidates must be sharp and inquisitive testers who can create test plans and strategies, applying them along with exploratory testing to ensure a high-quality learning experience. Acuitus is a very dynamic environment: we're implementing new tutoring approaches and are developing hundreds of hours of new content for the Digital Tutor. As a tester, you'll be learning the material, filing bugs, and troubleshooting everything from dynamic content, to widgets, virtual machines, and monitoring tools. You'll be working alongside platform developers, subject matter experts, and master trainers—these are some of the brightest and best people in the industry. This position involves some travel to client sites to monitor and support live student sessions on the Digital Tutor.
Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or other related field
- Ability to perform planned and exploratory testing
- Ability to learn quickly
- Drive to flush out important issues with the product
- Ability to communicate technical details and give constructive feedback
- Ability to perform basic system administration on Linux, Mac OS, or Windows
Beneficial skills/experience
- 1-4 years experience testing complex applications
- Experience testing interactive content such as games or highly interactive websites
- Ability to develop shell or perl scripts, or Java code
- Prior experience as a tutor or TA
